1. Introduction

TripDip LLC dba welago ("we," "us," or "our") operates the welago website and application available at welago.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use welago.

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and display name or nickname.
  • Trip information: Trip details you create or are invited to, including RSVP responses, attendance dates, and travel details you enter into the Service.
  • Communications: Comments, discussions, direct messages, and poll responses you submit within the app.
  • Voice call data: If you use welago's voice calling feature, we collect your phone number, call duration, and call usage metadata (such as daily call counts) to provide and manage the service. Voice calls are not recorded by welago.
  • Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and access times, collected via standard web server logs and analytics tools.
  • Location: General location inferred from your IP address (e.g., country or city). We never collect precise GPS or device location data.
  • Payment information: We do not collect or store payment information. All bookings are handled directly by third-party travel partners, and payment data is processed exclusively on their platforms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and its features
  • Send trip-related notifications via SMS and email — only if you have explicitly opted in to such communications
  • Enable communication between trip organizers, members, and invited guests
  • Analyze usage patterns and improve the Service over time
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your information for automated individual decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in the following circumstances:

  • Trip participants: Your name, RSVP status, and travel details you enter are visible to other members and the organizer of trips you join. Treat information shared within a trip as visible to all participants of that trip.
  • Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting and storage, Infobip for SMS delivery, Amazon SES for transactional email, and AWS Bedrock for AI-powered trip planning features. We use third-party telephony providers to facilitate voice calls. AI processing stays within our AWS infrastructure — only trip planning data is used, never financial data or sensitive personal information.
  • Travel partners: When you click a booking link, you are redirected to a third-party travel provider's website. Your interaction with that provider is governed by their own privacy policy, not ours.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights and safety of welago, our users, or the public.

5. Affiliate Links & Travel Partners

welago partners with travel affiliate networks including TravelPayouts, Booking.com, GetYourGuide, DiscoverCars, Airalo, 12Go, and other travel providers. When you click a link within the Service and complete a transaction on a partner's platform, welago may receive a commission from that partner. This commission does not affect the price you pay.

Each affiliate partner operates under its own privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review those policies before completing any booking. welago has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or policies of third-party sites.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. Trip data — including discussions, itineraries, and comments — is retained for up to 2 years after a trip's end date, after which it may be archived or permanently deleted.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@welago.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by replying STOP to any SMS.
  • Data portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. SMS Communications

If you provide your phone number and opt in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive trip-related text messages from welago, including trip reminders, RSVP updates, and activity notifications. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.

You can unsubscribe from SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You can re-subscribe at any time by replying START. For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@welago.com.

9. Voice Calls

welago offers voice calling features that allow trip participants to communicate via phone calls and conference calls.

When you use voice calling features:

  • Phone number usage: Your verified phone number is used to initiate and receive calls. Other trip participants may be called on their registered phone numbers when a voice call is started.
  • Call metadata: We collect call duration and daily usage counts to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse. This data is stored securely and associated with your account.
  • No recording: welago does not record voice calls. Call audio is transmitted in real time and is not stored.
  • Caller ID: Outbound calls will appear from a welago phone number. We recommend saving this number as a contact to ensure calls are not blocked by spam filters.
  • Dial-in access: A dial-in number and PIN may be shared with trip participants via in-app messages, email, and SMS to enable manual call access.

Voice calling is optional and not required to use any other part of the Service.

10. Data Deletion Instructions

If you signed in to welago using Facebook Login and would like to delete the data welago received from Facebook, you have two options:

  1. Request deletion via email: Send an email to support@welago.com from the email address associated with your Facebook account. Include "Facebook Data Deletion" in the subject line and we will process your request within 30 days.
  2. Remove welago from Facebook: Go to your Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites, find welago, and click Remove. This revokes welago's access to your Facebook data. Then contact us at support@welago.com to confirm deletion of any data already stored.
  3. Delete your welago account: If you have a welago account, you can delete it directly from the app by going to Profile → Delete Account and following the confirmation steps. You can also request account deletion by emailing support@welago.com.

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will delete your Facebook-sourced data (name, email, and profile picture) from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.

11. Children's Privacy

welago is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@welago.com and we will take prompt steps to delete that information from our systems.

12. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Data at rest is stored on AWS infrastructure, which employs physical, technical, and administrative security controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or applicable law. We will notify you of significant changes by sending an email to the address associated with your account or by displaying a prominent notice within the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
